Built in 1948, this fully detached home in Monterey Heights is a true gem. The main level offers a spacious living room and formal dining room perfect for entertaining. The kitchen provides plenty of storage with a charming breakfast area facing the backyard. There is a new gas range and dishwasher plus newly refinished hardwood floors throughout the house.
There are lovely period details including specialty crown molding, wood plank floors and textured walls.
The two bathrooms are both original and in good condition, both ensuite and one with a darling dressing room table. All three spacious bedrooms and both baths are on the same level. The primary bedroom has bright eastern views for morning sunrise and the other two face the back yard and welcome the afternoon sun.
The garage level has a handy bonus room for an office, playroom or yoga studio! So many choices! With plenty of storage space and some expansion potential, the garage still provides parking for two cars side by side parking. There is a side door that goes out on the east side finding the gate to the rear terraced garden. There is a small patio area for barbecuing and a concrete staircase up to the top level, perfect for alfresco dining and enjoying some views.

Monterey Heights is situated on the western slope of Mount Davidson. Stately homes with larger yards, front and back, characterize Monterey Heights, giving it a slightly affluent suburban feel, particularly those on Rosewood Avenue. Many of the homes are quite majestic, although there is a large spectrum of styles and sizes. Immediately southwest of Twin Peaks, this segment is nestled near St. Francis Wood, Sherwood Forest and Westwood Highlands. There is an active neighborhood association that even includes a "welcome committee" for new residents as well as social and edifying activities. This primarily quiet residential neighborhood has few retail or commercial outlets, which only lends to its quaint and charming character.
